Two ways to put a texture onto an object in Blender — UV-map an image, then set up the material nodes.
1. UV map an image #
- Select the object → basic colour → click the yellow dot → Image Texture → open the image.
- Switch to UV Editing (top bar) and adjust the map on the texture mapping grid.
2. Material nodes (Mapping-Texture) #
- Shift-A → Image Texture → New → link Color (metallic) to Metallic (object).
- For a preview: Shift-A → Bump → link Color (metallic) to Height (bump).
- Paint in Texture Paint mode — Shift-F adjusts the brush.
